%X A taxonomical note on <em>Caragana kansuensis</em> Pojark. and other confusable taxa is presented in this paper. <em>C.kansuensis</em> Pojark. and <em>C.brachypoda</em> Pojark.should be treated as two distinct species. The plants from North Shaanxi Province, Northwest Shanxi Province and other neighboring areas which misidentified as <em>C.kansuensis</em> Pojark., in fact, should be a new variety of <em>C.opulens</em> Kom. named <em>C.opulens</em> Kom. var. <em>angustifolia</em> Y. Z. Zhao ex Zhao. Y. Chang et F. C. Shi. The new variety is different from <em>C.opulens</em> Kom. var. <em>opulens</em> by its narrow and dense pubescent leaflets, which often becoming reddish on lower surface when dry. It is also similar to <em>C.licentiana</em> Hand.-Mazz., but distinguishes from it by long petioles, long and narrow leaflets and nearly glabrous fruits.
